Yigal Azrouël Fall-Winter 2009
Yigal Azrouël’s fall '09 collection captured what some may argue
is the quintessential vibe of a city dweller. Set against a live art installation
designed by artist Dov Tolpaz, large cowl necks, heavily wrapped scarves, layered
shirts, and stylish tailored coats stood out, while fitted loungewear, belted
knit jackets and soft fabrics offered comfort in the bustle of the big city.
Azrouël’s attention to detail is brought to the forefront through
distinct patterns and accessories – the winter design on the lounge pants
and shirt or Mohawk mink hat, for instance.
And with detail being of the utmost importance with any designer, a photographer
was on site capturing the looks with Fujifilm's new Instax 200 instant camera
– a must for designers making sure their sartorial visions are actualized.
What’s more, Azrouël was so impressed with the camera’s practicality
(as we were with his line), that he dressed the front of his boutique with snapshots
of his women’s wear and posted photos of the day’s events along
the walls.
