Flowers took center stage at the Jsong and…Way Spring 2012 show. Designer Way Zen's goal of utilizing flowers to enhance clothing translated into techniques such as digital embroidery to achieve a three-dimensional effect.
Spring 2012 is a geometric collection infused with organza, silk and linen, which nestle together like a carefully selected bridal bouquet. Perhaps because of the ubiquity of flowers, this collection seems to appeal to most any woman.
Case in point: a white cotton orchid petal t-shirt paired with linen red shorts exudes youthful sensuality as does a tangerine organza skirt. A khaki-multi linen blouse and pants is spot-on for the sophisticated worker while a white linen flora tier dress sends just the right amount of playful whimsy. Finally, a green linen multi-color lotus tunic captures that intrinsic “easy charm” that I often equate with all of Way Zen’s collections.
