This Fall 2007 collection is inspired by the aspirational man’s man. In particular, Carlos Campos was intrigued by playboys from the 1940’s and 1950’s such as Frank Abagnale and Porfirio Rubirosa. It wasn’t specifically the men themselves, but the kind of men they were - the kind of man who makes his own rules and has no apologies. The attitude of the Fall 2007 line is extreme masculinity. With a style that evokes images of Rat Pat sex appeal and lines that blends 50’s and 60’s tailoring, this collection aims to reintroduce a very masculine cool.
Designer Carlos Campos grew up in a tailoring and design household inspired by his father. Raised in Honduras, Campos quickly learned the skills of his father’s trade. At the age of thirteen, Carlos Campos set out to see the world. That journey ultimately drew him to New York City.
Campos has helped create costumes for many acclaimed plays including “The Graduate”, “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Jersey Boys.” Carlos Campos has been worn by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, The Scissor Sisters and The Killers.
