A native of Puerto Rico, Gina Velasco completed her bachelor degree in Fashion Design at Pratt Institute in 1997. After working in the fashion industry launched her signature line. During the consecutive years she has received much acclaim from the press and built a loyal customer base. In the US her designs have been featured on the cover of Latina Magazine (May 2006) and in LA'G Magazine, Women Wear Daily. The current collection, Superfluous, celebrates the sexy, classic and modern woman; the woman that who values details and exonerates style. For the Summer 07 season Velasco mixes fabric textures of shimmer and mate surface, limiting her palette to white, black, red, silver, cream and gold, allowing for the eye to fully take in her sumptuous silhouettes. Velasco has also worked in collaboration with artist David Antonio Cruz designing hand painted finishes.
