B Michael pulled out all the stops for fall 2013, owning the night with evening
wear that marries class with drama. Sharp suited styles in royal shades of crimson
and purple were elegant. Some understated stunners with exaggerated collars added
interest with blocking. Basic solids also landed above the knee with tried and
true lady-like form, a little sass with the gold number.
Mostly though the dresses were long and gowns ruled the scene in hues found
under the sea – think blue, green, and in-between. Silhouettes showed
off femininity without fussy or too much frill. The fabric choices showed off
the designer’s sensibilities. Richness with use of brocade and with flowing
materials a marvelous movement cascaded with every step. Glitzy elements also
made for memorable in tonal or by contrast. This line is on the radar for leading
ladies, so it's not a stretch to say we could see some of the look on our first
lady Michelle Obama.
