WHAT: Benjamin Cho joined forces with The Humane Society of
States (HSUS) and Glenoit Fabrics to present an innovative and daring collection for Spring/ Summer 2005, incorporating faux fur as an essential to the socially conscious wardrobe.
Benjamin’s show [was] a new testament to his talent and imagination as he incorporates Glenoit’s faux fur into a Spring/ Summer line. Raising awareness about animal protection is a crucial element to the collection, and for the first time ever; the HSUS will be debuting at Fashion Week as Cho’s sponsor.
The HSUS and Cho know that change starts with inspiration, and the two are preparing to bring the Fashion Industry a fresh twist on faux fur – the creative alternative to cruelty. Benjamin continues to reinvent his approach to fashion, and this show promises to deliver a collection of socially aware couture that is sure to pioneer a new outlook for the industry.
INSPIRATION: “The collection is a journey of themes.
It begins with tragedy and ends with
tragedy, but throughout remains an inherent beauty and purity. The shapes have
unusual detailing but are very feminine with hints at a sort of modern
antiquity…all and all undoubtedly breathtaking.” – Benjamin Cho
