Joanna Mastroianni’s return to the tents was buoyed by the play of light and dark found only in a garden. Colors were juxtaposed against the machinations of a garden such as “the blooming composition of a flower” to create a voluminous effect and a sense that the collection was “breathing.”
“Gardens have always inspired me - - French, English and Japanese. The natural beauty combined with their wild tendencies inspired me to create this collection. I found one leaf, one petal that struck me and from there I created an entire collection based on natural splendor,” says Joanna Mastroianni.
Joanna Mastroianni’s collection is light, feminine and flirty and showcased some of the best and cleverest beading sequences this season. A couple of pieces suffered from the exaggerated floral motif. Nonetheless, Joanna Mastroianni shows us that easy elegance is back.
