Fashion Ledge - Michon Schur
Michon Schur Spring 2007

Stephanie Schur, designer behind the label Michon Schur once said, “I take what makes a woman feel good to wear, and things that inspire me such as books and art, and make the two meet in the middle,” and that is exactly what she did Wednesday night at the UPS hub in Bryant Park.

Schur didn’t need 29 pieces in her collection to show us her astonishing talent of blending vintage detail—shown by lace inserts, silk ruffles and collars from the 20s—with modern appeal. Her color scheme consisted of beautiful earthy and blush tones, mostly yellows and some midnight blues. She began with an elegant flower backdrop, which looked like a sunrise when the lights slowly turned up. The runway quickly transformed into pure glamour and elegance when a silk linen rose print strapless dress with an emerged bustier graced the floor.

Schur’s clothing is already sold in boutiques and will soon be available at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus this fall. This seasons hits: a georgette and organza dress with pleated bustier or the silk metallic dress with georgette pleated detail.
